Quality and sustainability converge at Kiwa's material research laboratory

As an authority in energy and water distribution, Kiwa has been involved in testing and certifying materials used in gas, water and other pipeline systems for years. Kiwa's material experts have accumulated a wealth of experience, utilized in residual lifetime and failure assessments, resulting in a well-equipped material research laboratory that serves the entire energy and water sector.

Kiwa CE GAR certificate for Cooll Sustainable Energy Solutions' SuperHybrid gas heat pump

Cooll Sustainable Energy Solutions, a Dutch specialist in innovative, sustainable heating solutions, recently received the CE GAR certificate from Kiwa for its SuperHybrid gas heat pump. This marks a significant milestone for the young company, which utilizes advanced gas adsorption technology in the SuperHybrid.

Follow-up HyDelta program focusses on tangible hydrogen application

This month marks the start of the third phase of the public-private hydrogen research program HyDelta. HyDelta 3 focuses on the economic and technical integration of hydrogen gas into the national gas transportation and distribution system. As part of the HyDelta consortium, Kiwa is taking on a significant number of work packages within HyDelta 3.

Infographic: How hydrogen drives the energy transition

Hydrogen (H2) plays an important role in the energy transition. Currently, hydrogen is mostly applied in industry, mobility and the built environment. In this infographic Kiwa's hydrogen experts zoom in on these three applications. Discover the role of hydrogen as an energy source, as an energy carrier, for vehicles and for decarbonising the natural gas grid.

Kiwa sponsors Green Team Twente

Kiwa has recently become an official partner of Green Team Twente. This racing team, consisting of students from the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, has been building hydrogen cars since 2011 and has previously participated in the Shell Eco-Marathon. Green Team Twente is now focusing on developing a hydrogen race car for the Formula Student. Kiwa supports Green Team Twente with risk analyses.

Kiwa investigates cooperation regarding Hydrogen in the Netherlands and Japan

Both Japan and the Netherlands have a strong interest in hydrogen as a clean energy source and are working on its development and implementation. What are the strengths of both countries? Kiwa researched this for Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO). This resulted in the action plan 'Towards reducing hydrogen supply chain costs', which you can download below.

Whitepaper: The quality of hydrogen

To prevent further global warming and combat climate change, worldwide effort is being put into low-carbon, affordable and reliable energy solutions. Hydrogen can meet the energy and raw material needs of industry, the built environment and the transport sector, sectors that are difficult to decarbonize. However, depending on the application, hydrogen must meet certain quality requirements.
