The standard NSF/ANSI/CAN 50 is intended for manufacturers, sellers or distributors who wish to demonstrate that their chemicals meet minimum criteria for health effects and are accepted in North America and Canada. Products covered by this standard are chemicals that are added directly to water or, if added indirectly to water, have structural contact.
