FSSC 22000 was developed to meet the demand for an international, GFSI-recognized food safety scheme based on the ISO system. The standard is therefore based on the ISO 22000 standard, expanded with a sector-specific prerequisite program (PRP) and several additional requirements for, among other things, food fraud, food defense, allergen management, and food waste.
