24 July 2025 - The Angola RF Regulator - Instituto Angolano das Comunicações (INACOM) – has launched a new portal for local service users, including to support Type Approval processes moving forwards.
Asia Pacific Region
28 January 2025 - The upcoming Lunar/Chinese New Year celebrations in the Asia Pacific region may potentially cause delays in the Type Approval process. During this period, many government offices, testing laboratories, and certification bodies will be operating with reduced staff or will be closed entirely.

29 January 2025 - The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) have released the outcomes after their public consultation on the upper 6GHz band.
Bangladesh
03 September 2025 - On 4th August 2025, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) issued a notice that all ISM Band WiFi Routers produced and marketed in Bangladesh must support IPv6.
Brazil
22 July 2025 - On 11th July 2025, the Brazil RF Regulator- Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL)- launched Public Consultation No. 25/2025, proposing amendments to Ato No. 17542, which regulates Auxiliary Broadcasting and Related Services (SARC).

On 17th June 2025, the Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) issued Public Consultation No. 17/2025, proposing an Operational Procedure for Administrative Treatment in SISCOMEX (Sistema Integrado de Comércio Exterior). The goal is to establish clearer and more efficient procedures for the import and customs clearance of telecommunications equipment, in coordination with Brazil’s customs authorities and the Federal Revenue Service.
On 5th June 2025, the Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – released Public Consultation 21, which proposes changes to Ato n° 9523, the regulation governing satellite products.
Burkina Faso
01 August 2025 - Following the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update issued in June 2025, on 17th July 2025, the Burkina Faso Regulator - the Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP) - published Decree No.2025-365 /PRES/PM/MTDPCE/MEF, approving the new National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) in Burkina Faso.
09 June 2026 - The Burkina Faso Regulator - The Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP) - has recently issued Decision N. 2025-011/ARCEP/CR which sets the categories and condition for the use of low power short range devices in Burkina Faso.
China
20 August 2025 - On 1st August 2025, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) issued the Implementation Rule for Compulsory Product Certification of Portable Power Banks, Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs (Trial) (CNCA-C09-02:2025).
Colombia
16 July 2025 - On 18th June 2025, Colombia RF Regulator - Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones (CRC) - issued Circular No. 162 de 2025, the second update to the technical standards for terminal equipment approval. This supersedes existing Circular 155 de 2024.
17 June 2025 - On the 3rd June 2025, the Colombian regulatory authority, Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE), has released a proposed regulatory amendment for public comment aimed at opening up the 900 MHz frequency band, which is currently reserved exclusively for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT). The change would allow broader uses, such as private networks, community connectivity initiatives, public service entities, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

24 June 2025 - On 17 June 2025, the Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) issued General Notice No. 5/2025, confirming its final decision to phase out 2G and 3G mobile networks across the Kingdom of Eswatini
EU
17 July 2025 - Kiwa Product Compliance would like to remind manufacturers that from 1st August 2025, new EU cybersecurity requirements for radio-enabled products will come into force under the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30 of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED). This regulation introduces mandatory security provisions for internet-connected and certain other radio equipment, requiring manufacturers to ensure protection of personal data, prevention of network misuse, and resistance to fraud.
Hong Kong
20 February 2025 - In January 2025, the Office of Communications Authority (OFCA) of Hong Kong released a new version of table of frequency allocations.
India
06 June 2025 - The Indian Central Government has issued draft rules to delicense a portion of the 6GHz band. The proposal is to open the 5925-6425 MHz portion of the band, freeing up 500MHz of spectrum for the use of Low Power Indoor (LPI) and Very Low Power Outdoor (VLP) devices without a license.
India BIS
28 July 2025 - Further to the publication of the new IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 standard earlier this month, MeitY has now issued minutes of the Stakeholder meeting held in regards to the migration from the current IS 13252 Part 1: 2020 and IS 616: 2017 standards.
07 July 2025 - On 1st July 2025, Kiwa were made aware that BIS officially published the new IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 standard - Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment - Part 1 Safety Requirements.
18 June 2025 - The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued an additional guideline relating to Amendment 1 of the IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022 standard.
India TEC
25 June 2025 - On 2nd June 2025, the India Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) published the criteria for issuing provisional certificates under the MTCTE framework for telecom equipment with specialized test requirements.
Indonesia
07 August 2025 - On 15th July 2025, The Indonesia’s Directorate of Digital Infrastructure Services, under the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure (DJID), the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI), has issued a Circular Letter No. 03 of 2025 concerning Changes in the Format of Declaration of Conformity to Technical Standards for Telecommunication Equipment and/or Devices.
28 July 2025 - On 23 July 2025, The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia has opened a public consultation on draft technical standards for land mobile radio (LMR) devices, aim to update the technical standards for LMR devices to align with the current developments in radio communications technology.
11 July 2025 - On 23rd May 2025, the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia has published a Ministerial Decree No. 204 of 2025 regarding the technical standard for telecommunication equipment of broadband wireless access (BWA) based on International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 Technology Standards.
13 June 2025 - Starting from 27th May 2025, Indonesia and South Korea have officially implemented the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for telecommunication device test laboratories.
21 February 2025 - Further to the KPC Regulatory Update of December 19th 2024, the Indonesia Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika have now issued the final version of the regulation NOMOR 12 TAHUN 2025 concerning the Technical Standards for Telecommunication Devices used in Radio Local Area Networks (RLAN).
22 January 2025 - In connection with the issuance of Regulation Nomor 1 Tahun 2025 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, the name of the Ministry has been changed from the “Ministry of Communication and Informatics (KOMINFO)” to the “Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI)”.
08 January 2025 - On 2nd January 2024, the Indonesian Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) issued an announcement outlining a temporary solution following the expiration of the NOMOR 109 TAHUN 2024 regulation, which concerns the recognition of foreign test laboratories.
Israel
22 July 2025 - On 2nd July 2025, the Israel RF Authority- Ministry of Communications of Israel (MoC) - officially announced the final stage in the shutdown of the country’s 2G and 3G cellular networks, scheduled to take place in six months.
Jordan
23 June 2025 - On 16th June 2025, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Jordan opened a Public Consultation on their Draft Instructions for the Conditions and Procedures for Obtaining Approval for the Introduction of Telecommunications Equipment for the Year 2025.
Kiribati
11 August 2025 - The Communications Commission of Kiribati (CCK) have published an updated copy of their Type Approval Rules, which are effective as of 16th May 2025.
Kuwait
28 July 2025 - On 29th June 2025, Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has announced the official launch of 5G Advanced technology in Kuwait delivering speeds of up to 3 Gbps with low latency.
Macau
20 January 2025 - On 11th November 2024, the Telecommunications Regulator of Macau (CTT) published a new Law No. 21/2024, the Legal regime of radiocommunications, which has been in force since 1st January 2025.
Malaysia
17 February 2025 - On 10th February 2025, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) announced a list of laboratories capable of testing IPv6 products that are not Wi-Fi-enabled.
10 February 2025 - Following the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update of 18th June 2024, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has published a new version of Class Assignment No. 1 of 2025 on 21st January 2025.
05 August 2025 - Recently, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) has invited the public to submit feedback and comments on the following two draft Technical Codes (TCs):
1. IMT-Advanced (Fourth Generation) - User Equipment (Second Revision)
2. Aeronautical Radiocommuncations Equipment - Specifications ( First Revision)
Mexico
18 July 2025 - On 16th July 2025, the new Mexico Telecommunications Law was published in the Mexico Gazette – Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF). This represents a significant change to the regulatory framework in Mexico and process moving forwards.
02 July 2025 - Further to KPC Regulatory Update from 6th February regarding the dissolution of IFT and the creation of a new Authority, on the 29th June 2025, Mexico’s Senate approved the Draft of the new Telecommunications.
17 June 2025 - Mexican RF Regulator – Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) – will be closed for business from 21st July to 31st July 2025 inclusive for their annual holiday period. During this period, no Type Approval applications will be able to be submitted to IFT and application reviews will be on hold.
16 June 2025 - Following the April 2025 Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Bulletin regarding a public consultation on the possible postponement of the new IFT Logo Guidelines, the Mexican RF Authority- Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT)- has officially announced the revised date for the mandatory use of the IFT Seal. The new implementation date is set for 1st July 2027.
13 February 2025 - On 10th February 2025, Mexican Regulatory Authority, Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT), published the Technical Provision IFT-017-2023 in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF).
11 February 2025 - On 7th February 2025, Mexican Regulatory Authority, Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT), published the Technical Provision IFT-016-2024 in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF).
06 February 2025 - On 24th January 2025, the Mexican Government published a Decree with some information regarding the newly created Mexican RF Authority - La Agencia de Transformación Digital y Telecomunicaciones (ATDT ) - which is intended to replace the current Authority - Instituto Federal de Telecommunicaciones (IFT).
Moldova
17 June 2025 - On 6th June 2025, Moldova and European Union initiated the negotiation process for access to the European Community. Following the bilateral screening, draft amendment to Law 235/2011 on product conformity assessment was approved, including the recognition of the results of conformity assessment.
Morocco
31 July 2025 - On 25th July 2025, The National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency of Morocco (ANRT) published a press release, regarding the granting of licenses for the establishment and operation of telecommunications networks using 5th generation mobile technologies. The preparation of this report follows the call for competition launched by the ANRT.
28 January 2025 - On 20th January 2025, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) of Morocco published a New Type Approval Regulation - DECISION ANRT/DG/N°16/24 OF 28 JOUMADA 111446 establishing the Approval System for Terminal Equipment and Radio installations.

Nigeria
15 August 2025 - The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in exercise of its functions under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (NCA 2003), have published Draft Regulatory Guidelines on the use of the lower part of the 6GHz (5925 – 6425) MHz band in Nigeria for licence-exempt applications on its website.
Oman
14 August 2025 - On 3rd July 2025, The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced the completion of the nationwide shutdown of its 3G networks and the subsequent upgrade of the 4G and 5G networks.
Panama
31 July 2025 - The Panama Authority – Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Públicos (ASEP) – has published Resolution AN No. 20510-Telco, which formalizes the latest updates to the National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF). This update consolidates prior amendments and reflects the outcomes of the November 2024 Public Consultation, including considerations around emerging technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E.
09 June 2025 - The Panama Authority – Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Públicos (ASEP) - has issued Resolution AN No. 20510-Telco. This update aims to strengthen regulatory oversight and align frequency allocations with current technological and market developments.
Papua New Guinea
30 June 2025 - On 11th June 2025, the National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) launched a Public Consultation that aims to invite public stakeholder to express their views and comments on the draft Spectrum Outlook and Roadmap 2025 to 2030.
Philippines
06 August 2025 - The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) of the Philippines has issued a notice of public hearing on the proposed Memorandum Circular concerning the decommissioning of Second Generation (2G) and Third Generation (3G) mobile network services.
Saudi Arabia
21 July 2025 - Following KPC’s Regulatory Update in October 2024, which covered the Communications, Space & Technology Commission’s (CST) public consultation on the Spectrum Outlook for Commercial and Innovative Use 2025–2027, CST has now officially published the Outlook. This comprehensive document defines CST’s priorities, access regimes, and regulatory frameworks for the next three years, aligning with international best practices to enhance flexibility, efficiency, and inclusivity in spectrum management.

06 February 2025 - From January 2025, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) will no longer perform conformity assessment tasks and issue mandatory Serbian Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for radio equipment.
Singapore
26 January 2025 - On 21st January 2025, the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) of Singapore issued a notice regarding mutual recognition arrangements (MRAs) and updates of publications and processes for Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS).
South Korea
01 August 2025 - On 11th July 2025, The National Radio Research Agency (RRA) of South Korea published a Notice No. 2025-50, which primarily focuses on revising electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test standards and methods as specified under Articles 4(3) of the Notice of Conformity Assessment of Broadcasting and Communication Equipment.
15 July 2025 - On June 25, 2025, South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency (RRA) issued Draft Notice No. 2025-44, inviting public comments on proposed revisions to Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurement procedures for wireless devices.
06 June 2025 - On 25th April 2025, the Korean National Radio Research Agency (RRA) published a draft Notice No. 2025-2 for the partial revision of Technical Standards for Radio Equipment of Simple Wireless Stations, Space Stations, Earth Stations, Radio Equipment for Radio Detection, and Other Business Radio Equipment.
Thailand
27 June 2025 - On 9th June 2025, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) announced the termination of type approval and importation for 2G and 3G-only equipment in Thailand, effective from 30th June 2025.
06 January 2025 - On 26th December 2024, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) initiated a public hearing to seek input on three draft notifications related to radio communication equipment.
03 January 2025 - On 6th December 2024, the Vietnam Government issued Plan 141/KH-BCDTKNQ18, summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW which seeks to streamline the political system for greater efficiency. According to the plan, 8 ministries and ministerial-level agencies will be maintained with internal changes, while 14 others will be restructured, rearranged and merged.
Trinidad and Tobago
18 June 2025 - The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) has released the second round of public consultation on its Guidelines for Cybersecurity of Public Telecommunications Networks and Broadcasting Facilities.
12 February 2025 - The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) has invited any interested stakeholders to submit comments regarding the following document: Trinidad and Tobago Frequency Allocation Table (8.3 kHz-3000 GHz) (Single Round).

07 January 2025 - On 11th December 2024, the Ministry for Technology and Communication formally announced that the 5925 - 6425 MHz frequency band is now permitted in the country.

28 January 2025 - On 25th December 2024, the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) opened a public consultation on a new draft Circular, regarding Certificates of Conformity and Conformity Declarations for specialized information technology and communications products.
15 January 2025 - Further to the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update of 18th July 2024, the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) issued an official Circular 19/2024/TT-BTTT on 31st December 2024, regarding a new national technical regulation on specific absorption rates (SAR) for handheld and body-worn radio equipment.

04 February 2025 - On 23rd January 2025, the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) published the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) Spectrum Release Roadmap.
