This includes verifying the safety contours around the magnet, such as the 0.5 mT line. Considering the high usage rate of MRI devices and the increasing number of incidents with MRI scanners worldwide, such checks combined with specific training for employees can contribute to a safer work environment.

The code on occupational well-being, Book V, Title 7 concerning electromagnetic fields stipulates that the employer must conduct a specific analysis of these risks. Depending on the results of this analysis, preventive and corrective measures and actions may be necessary.

A detailed inspection of the technical and organizational measures for magnetic resonance imaging facilities (boundary delineation, safeguards, signage, preventive measures, etc.) to reduce the safety and health risks associated with the presence of electromagnetic fields.

Exposure measurements

Our experts conduct measurements of the exposure levels of MRI installations (RF and static magnetic fields). We also verify the compliance of safety contours such as the 0.5 mT line, measurements for which Vinçotte Controlatom is also recognized (ministerial decree of May 14, 2018).

Advice and recommendations

We assist you in developing an action plan that includes technical and/or organizational measures to reduce the safety and health risks associated with the presence of electromagnetic fields.

Training

We provide training and toolbox meetings for employees, in accordance with applicable legislation (Art. V.7-28).
