Risk analysis for installations using non-ionising radiation

All electrical equipment, whether for domestic or industrial use, is a source of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation. Under certain circumstances, these electromagnetic fields can be hazardous to health. The Royal Decree of April 28, 2017 (replacing the R.D. of May 20, 2016) on the protection of the health and safety of workers against the risks associated with electromagnetic fields in the workplace stipulates that employers must carry out a specific analysis of these risks.

What you need to know

A preliminary analysis of workplace risks

In the simplest cases, our online tool enables you to draw up an inventory of electromagnetic field sources. This tool determines the actions that need to be taken to reduce the potential risks associated with exposure to these fields.

A detailed workplace risk analysis for different categories of people (public, workers, special-risk workers)

You also have the option of letting our expert carry out the full risk analysis. We will then visit your site to provide you with our expertise in identifying sources of electromagnetic fields, making an inventory of them and carrying out a risk analysis.

Exposure measurements

Vinçotte Controlatom's experts measure exposure levels to electromagnetic fields in the workplace. Thanks to these measurements under approval (Ministerial Order of May 14, 2018), you can be sure of knowing workers' exposure levels in real-life conditions.

Advice and recommendations

We can help you draw up an action plan to comply with current legislation. In many cases, simple technical and/or organizational measures will suffice to reduce health and safety risks.

Training courses

Training courses and toolbox meetings can be organized for employers and employees, in accordance with current legislation (Art. V.7-28.).

Advantages

  • An inventory of the various categories of electromagnetic field sources;
  • Measurement results in line with current standards and recommendations;
  • A precise assessment of the risks associated with the presence of electromagnetic fields specific to your working environment;
  • Recommendations and advice on how to improve safety in the presence of electromagnetic fields;
  • Training and awareness campaigns for workers (toolbox);
  • A summary report to help you comply with Royal Decree 28-04-2017.
