Reporting point

When a fire extinguisher is sold or traded with the intention of using it in the Netherlands, Dutch State Type Approval is mandatory. Unfortunately, it still happens that fire extinguishers are sold without Dutch State Type Approval.
When a fire extinguisher is sold or traded with the intention of being used in the Netherlands, it must carry the Rijkstypekeur (Government Inspection Mark). Unfortunately, fire extinguishers are sometimes sold without this marking.
It’s possible that a fire extinguisher is already available on the market in Germany, France, or another country. In such cases, it likely has a label in the local language. Typically, the manufacturer or supplier will provide a label in Dutch, which includes the Rijkstypekeur mark. The importer is responsible for affixing this label to the fire extinguisher. End users are not permitted to do this themselves.
You may still come across fire extinguishers without the Rijkstypekeur mark, for example on a website. If so, please report this to us by providing the following information. Please note that products shown on a website may differ from the actual products being sold:
- Purchase location;
- Name of the point of sale;
- Address;
- Business location;
- Postal code;
- Web address;
- Brand of extinguishing agent;
- Type and quantity of extinguishing agent (if applicable);
- Type of fire extinguisher (if applicable).
