In the global testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) field, Kiwa of the Netherlands is widely recognized as a leading authority, providing quality and reliability testing services to the industry for many years. With the accelerating energy transition, Kiwa Solar Group has established service locations on five continents to provide comprehensive quality assurance for solar modules, inverters, and power plants.

Kiwa ExTEL, a subsidiary of the Kiwa Group, was established in 2018. With "local expertise and global resources" as its core, it focuses on providing on-site technical services for solar power plants. These services encompass site inspection, technical due diligence (TDD) for both new and existing sites, module factory production supervision, and maintenance audits, helping developers, banks, and owners reduce investment risks and maximize returns. To date, the company has inspected over 2GW of projects, with a track record spanning Taiwan, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Kiwa ExTEL states that its team acts as an impartial third party, rigorously overseeing every step from initial contract design review, power generation simulation, and on-site environmental verification. During the project phase, it provides one-stop services from product quality assurance and progress tracking (PVQA) to post-construction equipment and PR testing and acceptance. Its testing methods fully comply with IEC and ISO international standards to ensure power plant performance and improve return on investment, earning the trust of owners, banks, and insurance companies.

In Taiwan, Kiwa ExTEL also undertakes O&M (Operation and Maintenance) services for clients, employing the advanced DAS2.0 dust monitoring system to accurately track power generation losses caused by dust accumulation. Through intelligent management, it assists owners in planning optimal cleaning schedules, reducing maintenance costs and increasing revenue. To date, over 250 DAS2.0 systems have been installed across Taiwan, monitoring a total capacity exceeding 10GW.

In recent years, Kiwa ExTEL's testing business has expanded beyond Taiwan, reaching as far as the Philippines. Taiwan and the Philippines share many similarities in solar photovoltaic development. Kiwa ExTEL acts as a third party, with a professional team conducting on-site drone aerial photography, EL module microcrack detection, solar radiation meter calibration, and WiS module power attenuation measurement, successfully providing one-stop testing and technical services and gaining international recognition.
