Kiwa ExTEL enhances the quality of solar power generation by leveraging its international testing capabilities.
Kiwa ExTEL, a subsidiary of the Dutch testing and verification organization Kiwa Group, participated in the "2025 Energy Taiwan" exhibition this year, showcasing the brand's simplicity and professionalism with a blue and white themed booth design. The main wall of the booth featured the company's image as the main visual element, the main aisle was spacious and smooth, and the service wall was decorated with streamlined designs and professional lighting, creating a calm and sophisticated brand atmosphere that attracted the attention of many business participants.
Kiwa is a global authority in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC), providing accurate and reliable testing services to various industries. With the accelerating global energy transition, Kiwa Solar Group has established service locations on five continents, focusing on quality verification and technical support for solar modules, inverters, and power plants. Since its establishment in 2018, Kiwa ExTEL has adhered to the core philosophy of "local expertise, global resources," continuously cultivating the Taiwan and Southeast Asian markets. It focuses on technical testing and acceptance testing (SAT), technical due diligence (TDD), module factory supervision (PSI), and operation and maintenance audits (O&M Audit) for solar power plants, providing developers, banks, and owners with objective and professional decision-making support. To date, its total testing capacity exceeds 2GW, with achievements spanning Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines.
Kiwa ExTEL stated that its team provides full lifecycle technical services for solar power plants as an impartial third party. From contract review and power generation simulation in the early stages of plant construction to on-site inspection, everything is strictly controlled according to international standards. During the construction phase, specialists are dispatched to perform equipment testing, PVQA (Progressive Product Quality Assurance), and progress auditing to ensure the project meets the planned execution (PCM) requirements. After completion, module thermal imaging and PR (Progressive Performance) verification are conducted. All testing processes comply with IEC and ISO international standards to ensure stable plant performance and maximize return on investment, earning the trust of developers and financial institutions.
As solar power plants enter the long-term operation phase, Kiwa ExTEL is further expanding into the O&M (Operation and Maintenance) field. Combining its self-developed DAS 2.0 intelligent dust monitoring system, it uses real-time data analysis to monitor power generation losses caused by dust accumulation and calculates the timing and economic benefits of cleaning, helping owners reduce maintenance costs and increase power generation revenue. Currently, the installed capacity across Taiwan has exceeded 250 units, with a total monitored capacity of over 10GW and a cumulative maintenance capacity of 300MW.
Furthermore, Kiwa ExTEL is actively expanding into overseas markets, exporting its successful experience from Taiwan to the Philippines. The team traveled to the Philippines to perform services such as drone inspections, module EL microcrack detection, solar meter calibration, and power attenuation measurement, assisting local clients in improving power plant efficiency and implementing the DAS 2.0 monitoring system to reduce maintenance costs. The company emphasizes that it will continue to deepen its presence in the Asia-Pacific market, leveraging its international testing capabilities and local experience to help the renewable energy industry improve power generation quality and usher in a new era of efficient and sustainable energy.
